At your assessment you will be told that we can help you with all the options. You will be assisted in selecting medically proven products, non surgical options with clinical support, permanent hair transplantation, artificial hair placement, hair piece sales and service. We even offer hair removal options if you want to go bald, and other products and services to help with scalp care and protection against the increased risk of skin cancers associated with hair loss.
We create close to a perfectly natural appearance as it is your own hair and it grows amongst your existing hair breaking through the skin.
Done well your transplant is not visible to the naked eye. There is no scarring at all where the hairs are placed. The follicles and surrounding tissue is removed from the back of the head using either strip grafting or follicular unit extraction. After a healing period of around six weeks, as with any surgery, any scarring in this area has faded and in the future will mostly be nearly invisible, especially using the modern tricophidic closure method
The hair bulbs grow through naturally over a period of 12 months and do not leave any "lumping" or "pit" marks at the site of the implantations. Because single hairs are used at the hairline, there is no "tufting" or "dolls hair" look which results from placing too many bulbs in one position.
We offer help to women and men to thicken the present hair for a variety of reasons. Eyebrows can be created or thickened, scars can be disguised following cosmetic surgery procedures, and hairlines can be lowered. We can transform genital hair lines before or after transgender surgery, or as requested and we can help with hair loss following burns or disfiguring accidents and Medicare rebates are available for this work.
Hair transplantation is as acceptable for women as it is for men after a scalp evaluation.
Unlike some Hair Transplant services, each of our Clinic’s has it's own operating theatre. The surgery is performed by a highly skilled Medical Practitioner, our Nurse and specially trained assistants, and the procedure complies with the Australian Standards of Sterilization.
To carry out such specific surgery requires continuity and precision. Our surgeon is constantly in attendance during your procedure. He travels to each clinic and regularly attends the International Society of Hair Restoration education updates to stay at the leading edge of technology. Our Senior Registered Nurses have over 15 years experience. This ensures we are able to give our patients the very best of our knowledge and experience.
The procedure is carried out under mild intravenous sedation and local anaesthetic, though this is entirely your choice. The hair bulbs are then removed from the back of the head using different methods. (Click here for more details) This area mostly cannot be detected the next day. The all important hair bulbs are then carefully dissected from tissue from the donor site in 1, 2 or 3 hairs and placed in the predetermined area where the hair is thinning where they will start to re-grow in approximately 90 days. Hair growth depends on the actual cycle of each individual bulb, and the majority will grow within a period of 7 months. This hair will not go through the balding cycle and will remain for the rest of your life.
The procedure can be carried out within one hour to six and a half hours, depending on the amount of hair transplanted. You must wash your hair each day with a shampoo supplied by the Clinic. The donor stitches (where the bulbs have been removed) are removed 7 days after your surgery, either by the Clinic Sister or by your own GP or Registered Nurse. Small incision marks where the bulbs have been placed under the skin will begin to disappear within 6 to 10 days. In 99% of cases there is no need for bandages.
Your new hair will need no maintenance (other than cutting) and will keep re-growing for the rest of your new life.
As far as we are aware, we are the only medical procedure where a written guarantee is given. We will guarantee that a minimum of 70% of the incisions will produce hair although it is actually a lot closer to 92%.
